My name is Karen Vermeulen and I'm a freelance illustrator living and working in Cape Town. I like working with watercolours, my mac or just doodling with a ball point pen. I've been drawing pictures my whole life but have only been getting paid for it for the last 8 years or so. But really I do it because I love it.
My illustrations have appeared in books, magazines, on greeting cards, t-shirts, mugs, chocolates as well as on numerous wedding invites. Some of my clients include Lapa publishers, Fairlady magazine, Woolworths and Stuff for Africa.
When I'm not busy drawing or painting I work in advertising as a freelance art-director.
