Maria Lebedeva is a freelance illustrator living and working in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. She completed a degree in Information design at the University in Pretoria and is currently busy with a Masters degree in Illustration at the University of Stellenbosch.
Maria prefers a hand-drawn approach to illustration, as she believes that this ensures each piece has a unique personal touch. Her preferred mediums are watercolour, acrylic paint, colour pencils, combined with just a touch of collage. Maria works in a wide range of applications, from picture books and commercial projects, to gallery pieces and private commissions.
